Heh... you know, it's kinda funny. My mood swings and depressive fits are a pretty well documented thing through the course of my history with you guys. You all know how I can get, especially when shit keeps piling up and piling up, and I just explode and have very little to no control over what I say or do. It's a horrible thing, but unfortunately I can't do anything about it.

Clearly, though, you people have your own idea of how to best handle it. You know, banning me today wasn't all that bad. You know... I just put my father's gun to my head after that, but, you know... no big deal. Not like that hasn't happened before. But then after finally calming down and not having the balls to tell me yourself that I've been banned for a week, refusing to speak to me to try and work things out, totally ignoring me and blocking me from AIM?

That's low. That's extremely low, childish, and irresponsible.

So, to prevent further conflict, I wash my hands of this place. I might be around, I might not. Considering the events of the night, me being around is doubtful at best. As it is, this place is clearly too elite for me, judging from the exhausting pleas for help and advice and feedback, only to not get it. And, as I said, to be totally and utterly ignored. I never thought I'd prefer the way TREG handles things, but at least he'll take a moment to listen to people.

But, whatever. Have nice lives. :grin:

I went into an anaphylactic shock last night after taking some medication and had to take an ambulance to the E.R. for treatment. I'm doing just fine now, but I have to take it easy for the next 2-3 days and take medication that makes me very drowsy.

Anaphylactic shock is the most severe form of an allergy and it causes the throat and/or tongue to swell up, making the person unable to breathe. An adrenaline shot plus steroids are used to treat it. It's a pretty scary experience, but I (as well as my husband and other family members) can recognise the early signs and act quickly before it causes any damage.

My wife had a scratch test a few years ago. She found out her #1 allergy was Brewer's Yeast. She said, "I almost walked out of the Dr.s office and into traffic." (She likes beer. A lot!)

As for me, I just got here so I'm not going anywhere just yet.

Thanks so much, everyone! I'm definitely over the allergy, though the steroids suppressed my immune system, so I'm more prone to colds for a short while.

I haven't been given an epipen because I wasn't allergic to any common allergens - only penicillin. But now that I've had another allergic reaction, I might have to start carrying one around with me.

Surgery went great! I'm already able to see tons better than I used to, although it's very difficult to look at the computer because of the glare.

As far as impressions go, I'd say that it was more weird than anything else. It lasted about 3 minutes in all (5 if you count the prep) and it wasn't painful. The only thing that was mildly uncomfortable is that there's a bit of pressure during one part of it.

Recovery was fast. As Alexia said, you pretty much just sleep it off, and then use a ton of eyedrops for a while.

@Reives: I was near-sighted. Now I'm better than 20/20 :aww:

It's just a temporary symptom. It's supposed to fade over the next 2 weeks (though sometimes it happens earlier too). The other side effects are a little bit of fluctuating vision and sensitivity to light. All in all, they're more of a nuisance than a problem.

Hey everyone, I'm going to be posting the farewell on behalf of Dox who has told me to say goodbye to you guys on his behalf. It's quite a long one but I'll shorten it a bit. If you'd like the long goodbye, I guess you could send me a PM for it.

Here's the gist of it.
Dox has had it with RPG Maker. He feels that most of the communities RPG Maker spawns are arrogant. Goodbye RPG Maker XP, goodbye RPG Maker 2003, goodbye RPG Maker VX, goodbye Enterbrain, goodbye bittersweet memories. Goodbye Spongen, goodbye Creation Asylum, goodbye rmxp.Org, goodbye RMVXPUniverse, goodbye Sakari, goodbye everything. But most of all - goodbye hopes and ciao, dreams.

There was nothing I would be able to do to convince him. I had to respect his decision. And now, here's what he wanted me to tell certain users.

He has deleted almost all of the things he's done for RM as well as the programs. All he kept were a few of his songs. He's even deleted mIRC and Trillian.
At this very moment, I'm very much at a lost for words. I consider dox a great friend and I hope to see him come back to a much brighter RM community someday. I thank him for getting me into PHP. I am loving PHP now and for this, I owe him a giant thank you. I also owe him another thank you for creating a generator that I plan to use in the near future. I think being in IRC is going to be a bit different (at least for me) without him around. Who will I give out a ball of yarn to? And most of all, who else is going to want to see my new PHP tricks? T.T

Ok, I can understand leaving RMXP and other programs alone, but the community as well? Since when did Spongen become an RMXP community? Sure there are a lot of users of it here, but if I left it with the program, I would NEVER be on. I would like him to come back, his music was good, and just because on average we're pomous snobs who have no idea how hard it is to make a craptastic game (Partially because we've never A-made one or B-played one).

I know he won't read this, but this is sudden and mean of him. I wanted to at least become a part of the community before it up and wilts away.

Punk, by calling it not pretty, you are still scared of actually being ok. see, you are bottling things inside, but because you think letting out these angers is a bad thing (i.e. you called it ugly) it's not going to get better. Try to be ok with yourself getting angry and work to calm yourself when you are angry. If you outright think that being angry is the worst thing in the world, well, it's not gonna work. You'll still bottle everything inside.

I'm taking some time away, maybe just a few days but wont be gone too long. For quite some time now i have been virtually running things here solo, i try to avoid complaining since as admin it's my job to look after things and i enjoy the job. However there is just far too much that needs sorting and on my own i am just getting more and more stressed. Real life has to come first and my health is about as real as it gets.

If anybody needs anything my email adress and msn are public on the forum and i will be back soonish. There are plenty of staff members and 2 other admins who can help with any other concerns until then.
