So, Christmas is in full swing, and it's time to spill the beans: What did you give your family and friends this holiday season, and how did you make out in return? Get something awesome you weren't expecting? Find something perfect for that hard-to-get-for someone? Particularly excited about anything you gave or received?

Yes, we're all materialistic humans and we all really wanna know, so tell us!

What I Gave...
My mom a heart-shaped mug and a block of all-natural honey comb for her morning tea and toast; my dad a rechargeable battery kit and a receipt organizer for his office; my brother a rechargeable battery kit and a peanut butter and jelly spreader since he's always making pb&j sandwiches; my aunt a little foot care kit with a pumice foot scrubber and foot-shaped soap; my little cousin a set of safari-animal finger puppets; and my best friend a set of scented color pencils and a string doll for her keychain.

I was particularly excited about the scented colored pencils. They were individually encased in plastic to help keep their scents, and they smelled really really good, I was surprised. Mmmm root beer-scented brown pencil. Also I'm eager to sample some of my mom's honey comb--hopefully it doesn't taste as weird as it looks so she'll be able to use it.

What I Received...
Well, I partially ruined my old laptop by spilling a big glass of milk all over the keyboard, so my parents surprised me with a new one--a nice HP Pavilion with Windows 7 just like I had been looking at. I wasn't expecting them to get me something so expensive, but my cousin works at Best Buy so apparently they got a really good price on it. So that was really sweet--I'm still gathering some stuff off my old one, then I'm gonna get the new one all set up tonight.

I also got some comfy t-shirts and pajama pants, a pair of moccasin slippers, a journal with a nifty metallic cover, a ceramic art knife, and gift cards for Borders and Gamestop. I'm the kinda guy who's just happy with food, a bed, and an internet connection, so all of this was really great.

(Also my cousin's boyfriend got super drunk and provided a very entertaining show for the whole family, which included playing on his daughter's toy ballet bar and yelling "karate chop" repeatedly. So that was an amazing present all on its own.)

I gave... (this is all with myself, my sister, and my brother all pooling together for our relatives):
Grandma: A new mirror (she asked for it!), a new tub rug (her old one had been bleached really bad). She was really hard to shop for cause she wanted something that she used, but you know how hard that is??
Aunt + Uncle: They got a throw blanket for us (that my parents bought and put our names on it), and a pitcher and cup set. They were all polka dotty and funky. They loved them. XD We also gave them a polka dotted towel to go along with it. Mwa ha ha ha.
Brother: (This is what me and my sister got him) a Koopa Plushie all the way from Japan. It's so cute and soft. :3 He loved it.
Mom: The last 2 seasons of Slayers she wanted (yes, she likes anime too).
Dad: Star Trek (2009 film) DVD and a PC game called Shadow of Chernobyl.

I got:
A new jade ring from my aunt and uncle--they got it a tad too small but I love it anyway. So pretty. Also from them I got a leather notebook from China. From my other aunt I got a very spiffy candle holder. I need more candles. From my grandma, I just got some money to use on whatever I wanted, and from my parents I got candy, nail polish (a great blue and a firey red), and a calender. =)

And what happened with your cousin's boyfriend sounds amazing. XD

I gave my sister a Tekken videogame, she is in love with the Tekken series. As well as 10 "tournament" tokens, which are 10 guaranteed nights of play. Gave my father a Family Feud game for the Wii. I pretty much am in a videogame giving mood.

I got a sock monkey doll hahaha. It's so sad and suicidal looking too. No matter how you prop him up wherever you put him, he always looks so... depressed. It's awesome. A sock monkey jack-in-the-box. "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles RETRO" fingerless wool gloves. A pair of wool gloves with skulls. A wool hat with skulls. Two CD's, both the band Rancid, And Out Come the Wolves, as well as Life Won't Wait. Long story attached to both the CDs.

Sister got me a $30 gift card and a $30 gift certificate to Comic Book Jones. But the guy at the store said "If you write it I'll honor it" when she said she should write on it what I can buy with it. I really want to read this comic crossover series Blackest Night by DC, and she wrote it on the damn things. So the guy will only honor it if I buy something related to that. The series started in June, it ends in April 2010. It won't be released in trade paperback form in god knows when. The thing expires by then, and I can't back order all the issues from June hahahaha

Gave my sis, Kalier, some classic Hammer movies (Horror of Dracula, Vampire Circus) and some anime and ... the first 6 seasons or Red vs Blue. Gave some classic war movies (like Patton) to the guys at work and some perfume for the ladies. My dad? Your classic fare: Clothing, Band of Brothers DVD set, Napoleon Brandy.

What did I get? Chocolate. Lots and lots o' chocolate. Yum. :boogie: And I got Star Trek (2009) too.

Ronnie: It sounds like your mom would just love to see my 'avatar' given where it's from ::8P:
