All, I just wanted to let you guys know what updates and changes have been made to SponGen in the last week:

* Private Social Groups are now enabled. You may create a social group and restrict the viewing of its contents to members only.
* You may now upload images greater than 1000x1000 to your picture album.
* You can no longer edit other people's comments in your blog entries.
* Blogs can have up to 999 custom pages and custom blocks now. Custom pages are nice for quick link blog entries. Custom Blocks allow you to add custom sections to the lefthand side of your blog. Check my blog out if you want an idea of what they can add to your blog. (http://www.spongen.org/blog.php?u=25)
* Guests are no longer able to view the albums, blogs, or user profiles. They can however view the Entertainment/Lifestyles/News subforums now.
* User Notes have been added. This is a feature that is a little bit more advanced than your personal notepad - use it to save drafts, posts, experiment with BB code, or anything. Your user notes can only be viewed by yourself and staff. To access User Notes, go to your user profile (not the control panel).
* A bug over the last two weeks prevented members from posting new threads in the Spontaneous subforums. This has been remedied and you may now create new threads again (except in Official Area).

If you find any bugs on the site or have any suggestions, feel free to submit a support ticket for them~

What's the reasoning behind this?

Some people had reservations over it, kind of how some people won't post stuff at large forums or the like. I took it as a bit of separation, you can now post things in forums and everyone can see, but if you had a big fan who wanted to see stuff you could make them waste a few moments to sign up first.

That's how I view it as well. Feel free to visit, but take the time to register if you want to get down into the interesting stuff. A lot of people see this as 'keep the leechers out' but I see it more as 'invite others in'

Hurray for stuffs being done. Btw, any chance of getting the option to upload a new version of a pic in your albums that'll overwrite an existing one? Currently if I want to update a pic, I've got to delete the old one and then upload the new one... which messes up links and you loose comments.

Anything's possible. I'll look into customizing the album to have an update page. I haven't messed with php in a while but it's all coming back to me after spending a couple hours fixing the stupid birthday bug.
