Got an I-Pod? Got mp3's you've stored away on your computer? Open those suckers up, and put 'em on random. Take the first 10 songs - and don't try to be cool - and jot 'em down with something about the song. Why it's there, what you like, or something - anything.
Generally you only mention songs you WANT people to know you listen to. This adds in the prospect of variants. You could learn more about a person's musical tastes over random songs vs what they tell you they like.
1 "Over the Rainbow" Israel Kamakawiwo'ole
There's a version that combines this and another song, but I got this one going. I always liked the lyrics and found the song uplifting and Iz's version is one of my favorite covers.
2 "In the Beginning" Knaan
Most people who know this song know it from the closing credits of Harold & Kumar Escape from Guantanamo Bay. But I had this album before hand.
3 "Bury Me Where I Fall" 36 Crazyfists
I always liked how the band isn't typical. Even lyrically. This is one of those songs that the opening lyrics hit harder like the music.
4 "Single Ladies (Put a Ring on it) Beyonce
:x I kind've hoped this wouldn't pop up. I heard it once and the hook and catchiness of the song never went away. And for whatever reason I fell in love with the video, it's got that classic look that reminds me of my old VHS of old timey performers :x
5 "Tears of a Clown" Smokey Robinson
Man this song is classic. It's one of those songs I wish I had a singing voice over. Still, I'd love to record a somewhat metalcore version. That would be fun.
6 "The Pain" Monday
This I found on Myspace, and have no clue how I got it. Someone sent it to me randomly. I don't even know what genre you'd call it. If you use Myspace as a radio, search Monday and hear it. People I know called it postpunk, but that genre is too screwie to know what that sounds like :\
7 "Happy Song" Mallu Magalhães
I have no idea what some of the lyrics are. Mallu Magalhães is from Brazil and is like 16 or 17, maybe older by now? So I have a hard time with some parts. I still love the opening "This is a happy song with some sad lyrics in it". The ending is fantastic.
8 "Sleepsting" FenixDown
A local band. I think I put the name wrong, I believe they spell it slightly different. Tony, the founder and singer/guitarist actually almost got me to try for the band twice. As a bassist and a keyboardist. Also yes, he named the band after a particular item from Final Fantasy.
9 "Son of a Gun" the Vaselines
Most people know the Nirvana version of this song I'd bet. I'm a fan of the Vaselines, and find it very funny when someone hears me playing one of their songs over a speaker, and assume it's a Nirvana cover - it's hyper and makes me happy :aww:. I actually do like the Nirvana cover more often, I really appreciate the chemistry in the Vaselines more duet approach.
0 "Passion Play" William Fitzsimmons
Did I spell that last name right? A modern folk artist who is simply great. Also the lyrics here are phenomenal. "i just want to be not what i am today, i just want to be better than my friends might say" is gold.
See?
Most people think I need growling, screeching, twin guitars, and roaring into a microphone for me to enjoy music. A good chunk of these songs are played acoustically or aren't metal or rock in the slightest :o

I'm game! Here goes!
.01 "Running Up That Hill" - Placebo
Personally, I like the upbeat Within Temptation cover better, but Placebo's is great too. The lyrics are great, and it's a nice mellow song to sit back to.
.02 "Dead!" - My Chemical Romance
Yay! MCR! :boogie: This song just makes me want to get up and dance, despite the lyrical content.
.03 "Believing" - The Calling
Ick, this is actually a song I've outgrown, so to speak. I don't really like The Calling very much anymore. If you do, this song is pretty much like any of their other songs.
.04 "Reflections" - Mulan
lololol, who hasn't heard this one. :aye: Mulan's my favorite Disney movie. Too bad the Christina Aguilera version absolutely ruined this song. :upset:
.05 "Paradise" - Kaci
Another older song that I've outgrown. XD I actually like the remix much better, but I don't think I have that version in my hard drive. The chorus is still kinda catchy but emotionally unappealing.
.06 "A Time For Us" - Andy Williams
I love crooners. :vhappy: But I have to admit, I like the song in Italian better than in English (Josh Groban sings an amazing Italian rendition called "Un Giorno Per Noi"). Andy Williams is classic, but this song really loses its poetry after translation.
.07 "Requiem of Birth" - Grandia 3
I actually couldn't stand Grandia 3 after very long (never finished it, didn't plan to after my two favorite characters left the cast), but I'm glad I stuck to the game long enough to hear this song. This is a hauntingly beautiful violin piece.
.08 "Song of Mana" - Annika
Wooooah, blast from the past. I haven't heard this song in so long, I've completely forgotten about beautiful it is. I believe this was from one of the Legend of Mana games? Anyway, I believe this song is completely in Swedish, which really adds to its beauty. A very worldly feel.
.09 "Honey" - L'Arc~en~Ciel
I first heard this song on an online anime radio and after that I was obsessed with it for the longest time. It's still pretty catchy, although I've grown less impressed with Japanese singers than others nowadays. Still, a good song to pick up if you're into older J-Rock.
.10 "Freeze My Love (Orchestral version)" - GLAY
I've never heard the original version and I don't think I want to. XD I always say that an orchestra/strings makes any song like 10 times better anyway!
Not a bad selection. Too bad there isn't any MIKA in there~

1. Bring Me The Horizon - Chelsea Smile
A band that changed the face of Metal for the good :). This song is on their second album and kicks certain ass :P
2. Millencolin - No Cigar
A Punk band that takes me back quite a few years to the first few Tony Hawks games :D...how i miss those simple days :P
3. The Fray - Hundred
Such an awesome band with so many amazingly sad songs....they've helped me through alot :)
4. Taking Back Sunday - Divine Intervention
Probably taking back sundays best album...the singer has come along way vocally :)
5. Reverand and the Makers - Open Your Window
What an annoying live band, but some of their songs are good...tbh i barely listen to this song.
6. Muse - Knights of Cydonia
Do i even need to talk about this band? They're obviously one of the best bands on the planet....changing the face of music for the better :)
7. Fall Out Boy - "The Take Over, The Breaks Over"
Fall Out Boy being my favourite band obviously makes this an awesome song :P...not their best song but nevertheless awesome...no one writes lyrics better then Fall Out Boy :)
8. Panic! At the Disco - Time To Dance
Nothing quite like Panic! At the Disco...they're quirky sounds really do stand out along with their lyrical intentions.
9. New Found Glory - Ending in Tragedy
A band i sincerely love, though their last album was pretty dissapointing, due to only being covers of old teen movie songs. But there where some amazing overs.
10. Rise Against - Audience of One
All i can say is i love this band, such a rough voice but it works so well :)

1: Who Knew - Pink
Rebellious songs are always fun to listen to. Pink - hate the color, like the singer.
2: I'll Stand By You - Gina Glocksen
I think I like the vocals the best, but the lyrics are nice, too.
3: Unwell - Matchbox 20
This is a very relaxing song for me. When I'm listening, I barely even notice that there are lyrics unless I concentrate on them.
4: Probably Wouldn't Be This Way - LeAnn Rimes
It's such a sad song, and I suppose it reflects some of my feelings about a couple of people.
5: Pokemon Advanced - I Wanna Be a Hero
Pokemon Advanced would come on every morning for a few months, and I enjoyed the title song.
6: Torn - Natalie Imbruglia
I remember hearing this first on the radio. Her voice is mesmerizing in this song for some reason.
7: Happy Ending - Sugarland
This song makes me feel good. It gives me hope that everything is going to work out.
8: Complicated - Avril Lavigne
It's another one of those rebellious songs. :P
9: Our Song - Taylor Swift
It's very upbeat and I like the instrumentals.
10: Barely Breathing - Duncan Sheik
This is actually my favorite song. I've been singing this in the shower constantly and my voice works so well with the song. I probably wouldn't like this song so much if I didn't sound so good singing it.

3rd December, 2008, 02:11 AM
I just realized something.
Across the pond or up north to where I am (UK & Canada respectively), people list things differently. I'd list "Song" by "band", but many'll list "Band" with "Song" haha
Okay my round #2 cause I have to kill a few minutes
1 - "Tourniquet" Rasputina
It's a Marilyn Manson cover, and I've always loved Rasputina. And I haven't heard a cover that was done bad. Melora Creager has one of the most underrated vocals ever.
2 - "I Touch Myself" the Genitorturers
Haha another cover. This is the Divinyls song (did I spell that right?) covered by - what would you call 'em? - Industrial metal band? The lead singer, also female like the original, changes the lyrics. In the Dinynils version she's submissive, here she's dominate. For example "I get down on my knees I'd do anything for you" becomes "Get down on your knees and do anything for me"
3 - "Hey Joe" Body Count (Ice T - not sure if he did it with Body Count or on his own?)
... what is this going to be the cover list? D:<
The Leaves did this song, but everyone thinks it's a Jimmi Hendrix song. Ice T does it on a Hendrix tribute even. I always liked how a lot of songs that tell a jilted story end in either defeat, or in some heroic fashion. And here's the story of Joe, who finds his wife cheating, and kills both her and her lover. He then escapes to (or plans to at least) Mexico, where he won't be executed for his crime.
4 - Proud Mary - Ike & Tina Turner
ARRRGHH!!! Anotehr cover D:
Tina Tuner is so fucking incredible. I don't care. I don't. So what if everyone (or at least everyone -at one time) admit it, her voice is STILL underrated.
5 - "The Heart Gently Weeps" Wu Tang Clan
This almost counts as a cover since it's heavily borrowing from the Beatles "While My Guitar Gently Weeps". George Harrison's song actually plays the rhythm guitar on this track too.
Here's a long story that has nothing to do with this track at all :x
I got this CD autographed by Method Man actually too. I remember meeting the Clan years ago when ODB was still alive. I was laying bass tracks down for someone in Stapleton. And if you know Wu, then you'd know they don't play that iconic rapper motif, then when they were large, and now (though they're still large).
And so I'm getting ready to leave, and I accidentally bumped into Ol Dirty himself. And he tells me to watch it, I say I didn't see him. So he starts going off, and through the conversation he makes the assumption I'm being racist, when I -in my li'l teen self said it was "too dark".
"Oh so now I'm just a dark n* huh? I'm too black to see now huh?"
I was petrified I admit, but it was fun. He was just fucking with me, and then I go off my way with a story about how Baby Jesus got me to call him a n* by way of unsaid haha
6 - "Wonderful World" Louis Armstrong
I love the old "Blues Voice" and Armstrong is credited by many to have made it. And this song is simply wonderful to hear. Particularly because this was taken from an earlier copy, and it's clear, but it has the pre-"fixed" mixing. Which means those slow lead offs Armstrong's voice does after finishing, which are later removed, are intact. It makes the vocals that much better.
7 - "Strange Fruit" Billie Holiday
This songs content scares the living hell out of me, and makes me glad I didn't live back then. The image... it's for me at least, bone chilling. It was written by Abel Meeropol, a Jewish High School teacher, and that surprised a Rabbi I used to talk about blues and jazz with when I said it.
8 - "Pioneers" by From Autumn to Ashes
I love this song. Being an anti-traditionalist I, despite what it might have originally intended, take a lot from this song.
9 - "Light My Fire" the Doors
I actually hate this song, but someone put it here so... I'm deleting it now.
10 - "Knees & Strings" V.C.o.C.
Haha my old band, but this mp3 is broken horribly. It plays a whole whopping .42 seconds and is still large in size for what it should be. I can still play this on bass in my sleep I played this song so much. I forgot about this haha, would've missed it and gone to song 11 if I wasn't looking at the screen XD

1. Doubting Thomas - by Nickel Creek
I bought this song w/ the entire album which is good, but this song really stands out to me. Yes it's a reference to the Bible. I think the song is trying to convey the struggle between a wavering faith and fearing death and whatever that may bring. I consider Nickel Creek sort of pop-bluegrass, but apparently they consider themselves alternative.
2. Town - by Lene (http://www.vivid-expression.net/rmxp/music/121706town_lene.mid)
Oh god, how did my crap MIDIs appear in my playlist! Anyways, this is one of my favorite pieces of its kind that I've composed. Reminds me that I'm in a bit of a slump.
3. Zombie by The Cranberries
I performed with a girl who did this song at an event at school. Man she could sing! I just like singing the chorus.
4. Coach 4 - Highschool Debut Audio Drama
Downloaded this just to see how the professionals did it. The english version that I'm trying to produce will be a lot different, but hopefully it'll make as much sense.
(I skipped a file that wasn't a song or even something like the audio drama...it was an audition for aforementioned project, so I'm not counting it).
5. I Put a Spell on You by Nina Simone
Nina Simone! 'nuff said.
6. I Believe - Daywind Studio Musicians
I was looking for an easy gospel song for a bunch of little kids to sing. This was not it, lol, but it's an okay song. The instrumentals sound like my dad's old casio in the 90s though.
7. Your Armor by Charlotte Martin
I like her music. On of the people I found by listening to Pandora (http://www.pandora.com).
8. Suddenly I See by KT Tunstall
I love this entire album. Although this track is one of the more popular ones because I think it was used as the leaving song for So You Think You Can Dance. The lyrics don't really make sense imo.
9. Secretarial Pool from The Bubbly Black Girl Sheds Her Chameleon Skin
I don't really like this song. But it came with the Musical Soundtrack CD. Other than this an a couple of other songs, this is a good musical. I just think the lyricist was trying too hard to be cute. "Hello! This is the Glass Celing Corporation" anyone?
10. Ordinary People - John Legend
Ooh I like that this ended with this song. I love this song so much.

BUMP!
... ewwl I feel dirty now D:
1 "Be Your Dog" the Stooges
Okay, this has the greatest song opening ever, well maybe not greatest... but the opening guitar, after the initial feedback and sludge, is just powerful in my opinion. Plus who else could play 1 piano key in rapid succession over and over again throughout the majority of the song, and have it sound GOOD.
2 ""R.A.M.O.N.E.S." by Motorhead (live)
Seriously a great tribute song. It always kind of surprised me that Lemmy wrote a song about/for the Ramones. Even cooler when you find out that Lemmy discovered the Ramones after David Bowie of all people them off to him. I also like how when performed live Motorhead always does a bit of a shout out. He says "(insert Ramones band member) thanks you".
This version doesn't have the cool ending, in another recording the crowd goes apeshit and starts chanting 'hey ho! let's go!'
3 "Scenario" by A Tribe Called Quest
Classic hip hop. That's all I'm gonna say. A truly Classic song.
Actually I lied... the song isn't classic. It's timeless.
4 "Be OK" by Ingrid Michealson
Ahahahaha, I was just talking about her last night with someone. She's from where I'm from, and I was told just yesterday that I met her with someone else completely coincidentally.
What annoys me is I HATE the spelling of OK, and prefer Okay.
5 "Kick Out The Jams" by MC5
Funny how I still think of how impossible it is that MC5 had a sort of mainstream song, in 1969 that started with a line 'kick out the jams MUTHA FUCKAHS!!!
I've heard Iggy Pop say that without MC5 there'd be no Stooges, and I've heard someone in Motorhead say the same thing in different medias. It's funny how this song comes in after a Stooges and Motorhead song haha.
6 "Eyes Without A Face" Paul Akna
Remember the Billi Idol song? Well it was covered by Paul Akna as a big band/swing vegas ally song. It's off the album Swing Rocks, which features various rocker songs in big swing format. Such as Nirvana's Smells Like Teenage Spirit, as well as Van Halen's Jump Oasis' Wonderwall, R.E.M.'s Everybody Hurts, and even Soundgarden's Black Hole Sun, and more.
7 "Whenever Wherever" by Shakira
I've always really liked Shakira, I prefer the Spanish tracks, but I've got the few English renditions as well and this one popped up. I've always loved her vocals, she's got some set of pipes. I love how she sings 'off' (I lack the vocabulary to truly describe it).
8 "Caught a Lite Sneeze" by Tori Amos
Again I end up with one of the most awesome female vocalists of the modern age, who again sings 'off'. Some people don't catch the reference to Trent Reznor (Nine Inch Nails) in the song. She's always had incredible lyrics, sound, and amazing vocal abilities.
9 "Lovesong" by the Cure
I actually prefer many a cover version to the original, but a lot can be said of the original. I'm a closet Cure fan, it's something a lot of people I knew were WAY TO INTO, and nearly destroyed the band and like music for me. And like many others I find it silly to call the Cure a goth band.
0 "Suerte" Shakira
Bullshit, there's no way my player would randomly select the Spanish version of Whenever, Wherever so soon after me typing how I prefer the Spanish version >:U
It musta known what I was typing XD

1. Houchu Hasami Cutter Knife Dosu Kiri - Maximum the hormone
Maximum the hormone are japanese rock/metal type of band but they incorporate lot of sounds together, really good stuff. They just have this ability to make me smile and want to dance so having their stuff always helps.
2. Emma - Alkaline Trio
Right now alkaline trio are my favourite band, Emma is not my favourite track but its still good. The singer of this track (Daniel Adriano) has a really good singing voice although not as rough and cool as fellow member Matt Skiba
3. A decade under the influence - Taking back sunday
The album featuring this song is imo the best one, it has a good mix of upbeat music and slower tracks. To me its just like the perfect album in terms of it's balance.
4. Jive talking - The BeeGee's
I put one or two tracks on from the beegees as a novelty at first, but some of them are actually quite catchy.
5. Monkey Man - Real Big Fish
This band just make me laugh so much, Ska music just has the ability to make you want to dance and just brings happiness whatever the situation.
6. Pysychosocial - Slipknot
Recently i have started really liking slipknot, reading into the lyrics makes me notice how gifted they are even if others don't notice. Plus the new masks are really good.
7. The ultimate showdown of ultimate destiny - Just one of those non-sensical songs that you listen too from time to time, just for laughs.
8. Anything can happen in the next half hour - Enter Shikari
To me this is one of the most innovative bands, combining metal, rock and techno...its just a great sound. Lyrically probably not the most amazing but still.
9. Private eye - Alkaline trio
The first song i heard from my personal favourites, has a strong meaning to me as well.
10. Stop and stare - One Repbublic
I just like this song, nothing too overpowering and just defines easy listening

1. Til I Hear it From You - Gin Blossoms
Gin Blossoms always makes me think of Final Fantasy VII. Why? Because before voice acting, I always muted video games while playing and played my own. And the album I played most while playing FFVII was The Best of the Gin Blossoms. Weird how music can become strongly associated with a feeling or event.
2. Bittersweetheart - Soul Asylum
This song reminds me of high school so very, very much. Soul Asylum was one of those one-hit wonders in the 90s. A lot of people bought their single. A few bought Let Your Dim Light Shine, which has a few gems on it. They shone for about a year, when you could hear Runaway Train on every radio everywhere you went. Then they faded away into obscurity.
I remember an interview with the lead singer (can't even remember the guy's name now), in which he talked about a gig he played early in his career behind chicken wire. The audience wasn't paying attention, so the whole band mooned them. Wonder if they're back there now.
3. Speedway - Counting Crows
I love Counting Crows. They are my favorite band. Put out a new album, already.
No surprise there's one of their songs on this list, they make up about 30% of the music on my iPod.
I love how sad this song is.
4. Black (acoustic) - Pearl Jam
Another one that makes me think of high school! Ten was one of the first tapes (yes, tapes, no CDs yet) I bought. I was sort of late getting into music.
This also reminds me of my best friend at the time, Buck. We used to get into fights over whether Vedder was too derivative of Cobain.
I love Vedder's voice. I also love that they fought to keep their concert tickets cheap.
5. Firefly Main Theme - Sonny Rhodes
Eheh. ^^; I just really liked this theme music. It really captured the essence of the series.
6. Kill the Wabbit - Metallica & Ozzie Osbourne
I don't even remember where this came from. It's funny as hell, though.
I used to be really into Metallica as a teen. Not so much anymore.
7. Main Theme (Exile OST) - Jack Wall
This is some of the best video game music ever created. I really love how stirring and mysterious it is.
8. Einstein on the Beach - Counting Crows
From their demo tape, this song didn't even see the light of day until over a decade later. It always makes me want to dance. :) I have no clue what it's about, though. Too many drugs, Adam.
9. Fairy Tales and Castles - Lifehouse
I love the lyrics for this one. The song sounds upbeat until you really listen to it. The imagery is also really nice - I love thinking about a dungeon of dolls with smiles on their faces and chains that look like jewelry. It makes the plot bunnies positively rabid.
10. Into the Night - Santana with Chad Kroeger
This song is here because it makes me want to dance. And the imagery is nice.

1. Strength of the World - Avenged Sevenfold
I like it, quite the long song though. Hard Rock and Metal? Maybe my thing.
2. Crash and Burn - GMB
A regional religious song. Got it from my friend's cellphone. Pretty catchy:aww:.
3. Windows Welcome Music - Microsoft
EEK! Where'd that come from??
Apparantly from the Windows XP Tour ....
4. The Chronicles of Life and Heart - Good Charlotte
I kinda like this song. Makes me want to just do something daringXD.
5. Heaven's Rave - Zero Bass
This "was" a part of a... hard to explain... Uhh... a project. It's great though.
6. Here in my Heart - Nightcore
I got this in the internet :8P:. It's pretty nice, if you ignore the high-pitched voice. But it does give a cute impression.
7. 1-0002 - zephie
An unfinished MP3 I was recording from my keyboard.
8. Muita Bobiera - Luciana Souza
It came with my computer when I got it. I assume it's sample music from Microsoft.
9. FugueGM - Johann Sebastian Bach
Another MP3 I was recording. I loved this song when I was smaller. I still like it.
10. Laskar Pelangi - Nidji
A song made by a regional artist. It's a theme from a national movie. The title means "Rainbow Paramilitary Unit", if I'm not mistaken.

1. "Burn" - Apocalyptica
If you've never heard of Apocalyptica, it's basically metal with cellos. There's a lot of it in MotW, particularly most scenes involving Sparrow or The Hand. They've gotten into having guest singers recently, but the instrumental pieces like this one are where it's at.
2. "Little Sister" - Queens of the Stone Age
Not my favorite track by this band, but a good one. One of several that was featured as a downloadable track in Rock Band...RB songs may come up often during this process, we'll see.
3. "Broken" - Sonata Arctica
Awesome song from Sonata Arctica, one of their slower-paced ones. Like many of their work, the lyrics are mysterious but very awesome, rife for all sorts of varying interpretations.
4. "Reptilia" - The Strokes
Rock Band again. And a real BITCH to sing on Expert mode. Took me a while to Gold Star this one.
5. "Here Without You" - Three Doors Down
Love song by an alternative band that I've always found pretty captivating. I really like the last chorus in particular.
6. "Crystalis - Calming the Angry Sea" - Ryan8bit
An Overclocked Remix. There's a lot of these on there, really awesome rearrangements of classic video game tunes. This one is from an early NES action/RPG that was really fun despite being stupidly difficult like many other games of that era.
7. "A View to A Kill" - Northern Kings
A cover of one of the better James Bond theme songs (originally done by Duran Duran) by a group comprised of four Finnish metal singers who get together every so often to cover songs they like. The two albums by NK could almost be their own genre...karaoke metal.
8. "Hand of Sorrow (Live)" - Within Temptation
From their live Black Symphony album. A really interesting and fun song both lyrically and musically.
9. "She is My Sin" - Nightwish
Even more Eurometal. Sensing a trend here? The intro riff would make a good ringtone.
10. "Ladies and Gentlemen" - Saliva
This song is always in commercials. Pretty standard rock song, except that all the lyrics are delivered by a faux sports announcer. It's kinda neat.

Don't have an Ipod, so I scanned my harddrive & hit Randomize....
Layla-acoustic (Clapton) - wanted to learn it
Heaven (Los Lonely Boys)*
Catapult (Counting Crows) - one of my favorite bands
The Middle (Jimmy Eat World) - played solo on this one
Smooth (Santana / Rob Thomas) - another fun song to play
Born Under a Bad Sign (cover by The Psychobillies)*
Fortunate Son (CCR)*
Act Naturally (Charley Pride / Buck Owens)*
Iron Man (Black Sabath) - no idea. It's just there. (could have been my son downloaded it.)
Workin' Man Blues (Merle Haggard)*
*from a practice folder for one of the bands I was in.
Cc, I think "Einstein..." is either about the loneliness of not fitting in, or the guilt of contributing to the development of a WoMD. (or both).
Either way, it's one of my favorite Crows songs.

8th January, 2009, 09:48 PM
This was so much fun I had to do it again. ^_^ I really like reading the descriptions for the songs from people.
Volrath suggested to me that Einstein on the Beach might be about nuclear war, as well. Duritz claimed the song was "more clever than meaningful," but I suppose that doesn't preclude it having any meaning at all.
Either way, it's extremely catchy.
1. Citizen Soldier - 3 Doors Down
I really like the way this band sounds. I first heard this song when I took my youngest son to see some movie or another this Summer. The video is quite stirring.
This song means a lot more to me now than it did then. It makes me choke up a little.
You can download this song legitly from the National Guard website, btw.
2. Hey, Jealousy - Goo Goo Dolls
Ah, the Goo Goo Dolls. I've actually written short stories inspired by some of their songs. Not this one, though.
This song is very catchy, but the lyrics aren't all that impressive. At least they make sense, I suppose.
3. Catapult - Counting Crows
Weird, I got the same one as Brewmeister! Not my favorite song by them, but even a bad song by Counting Crows beats most good songs by other bands.
I once quoted this song on a long conversation with my boyfriend back in college, somewhere around 3 am in the morning. "I want to be the last thing you hear as you're falling asleep."
4. Saving Me - Nickleback
I really fell in love with the sound of this band back when I first heard How You Remind Me. I went out and bought their two CDs immediately, and I've bought the three that have come out since.
This is one of their better songs.
5. All Apologies (Unplugged) - Nirvana
Ah, Nirvana. The other big alternative band from the 90s. Man, Cobain needed to wash his hair more often. Ick. Really nice sound, though, especially acoustic.
And this song makes no sense at all. Which is par for the course for all songs by Nirvana.
I remember my brother and I playing some of their songs over and over trying to figure out what the hell he was saying. This was before Internet lyrics, of course. I'm still not positive if he's saying "oh, no, it's all we are" or "oh, no, insomnia." Maybe I should look that up.
6. Even Angels Fall - Michelle Branch
Okay, now you know my dirty secret. I actually like some pop music.
I'm going to die of shame now. ^^;
7. Crime of the Century - Supertramp
Wait, what? What is this and why is it on my iPod? Seriously, I have no idea what this is.
8. k2 - Akiyama
This appears to be left over from when I was trying to find music for Shades. Akiyama is extremely talented, wish I could find his(?) website again so I could ask about licensing.
9. Here Without You - 3 Doors Down
Weird, now I got the same one as Volrath. I think I first heard this song live on New Years back in Oregon. I didn't know who sang it, but I knew I loved it. So I googled part of the lyrics, then went and bought the CD.
Thank all that is good and pure for Google.
10. Caught in the Sun - Course of Nature
This song was pretty big for a while, but nothing else the band has put out has made it to my hearing. I bought this one solo off iTunes, I think.

I'm jus curious, that Goo Goo Dolls Hey Jealousy, is that a Gin Blossoms cover or an original song with the same name?
Tell me do you think it'd be all right
If I could just crash here tonight
You can see I'm in no shape for driving
And anyway I've got no place to go
I used to have to sing that song for someone over the phone because she loved the hell out of it :x

Hitting "randomize" on a playlist made the music seem extremely random for me. I usually have it organized by mood or function. But it was definitely fun.
1. Scarborough Fair - Simon & Garfunkel
This is a song that my parents often played when I was young. I remember that they even had a vinyl record of it that I wasn't allowed to play with (which, of course, made me want to play with it even more). It reminds me of home and I listen to it when it's cold outside.
2. This is Halloween - Marilyn Manson
I adore Nightmare Before Christmas and this is by far my favorite song. I like the Manson cover because it sounds both spooky and true to the movie soundtrack.
3. I Don't Care - Apocalyptica
I've liked Apocalyptica since their covers of Metallica songs. There's just something awesome about a mix of cellos and metal. It sounds very melodious.
4. Are You The Rabbit - Marilyn Manson
There's just something appealing about the Alice In Wonderland reference in the lyrics. I wouldn't say that it's my favorite song, but the reference just makes me smile. I also like the guitar/drum combo.
5. Schism - Tool
It reminds me of a trip hubby and I took in the summer just shortly after we got married. We drove a few thousand miles East to visit my parents. After discovering that most of the radio stations had nothing but country music, we just left Schism on a permanent loop for a couple of hours. Since I didn't get sick of the song after those 2 hours, it's earned a permanent spot on my playlist(s).
6. Claxton Hall Swing - Louis Bellson
I like to listen to big band/swing music when I write sometimes. Not only is it a type of music some of my characters listen to, but it makes me feel like a writer way-back-when that used an old typewriter to type a manuscript. In fact, I often feel like going out and buying an ancient typewriter when I listen to this just because it would feel wicked cool to write with it.
7. My Plague - Slipknot
This is on my "kicking butt" playlist. I usually listen to it when I'm grinding or doing instances in WoW (that don't require Vent anyway). It also makes decent exercise music, since it sets up a fast pace for the stationary bicycle.
8. All Around Me - Flyleaf
I really like the female vocals. Sometimes it's difficult to find decent female vocals in the genres of music I'm attracted to.
9. Boadicea - Enya
I most often listen to this when I'm drawing/pixelling. I find that the calmness of the music inspires me to be more creative. For a while, I had used this music for my meditation. I ended up associating it with relaxation, however, and I'd zone out whenever I listened to it. It made it a little difficult to be productive, so I switched to a different meditation playlist.
10. Symphony of Destruction - Megadeth
I consider it a classic, so not much to say about it other than I really dig the lyrics. It's on several of my playlists. :vhappy:

Wow Luna, you're a real metalhead. That's awesome.
2nd round for me.
1. "Final Fantasy 7 - Nanaki Searches for Truth" -Dev
Overclocked Remix. I probably have about 200 of these on the Ipod in total. The song at the end of the Cosmo Canyon sequence in FF7, when Red XIII discovers the truth about his father, is one of my favorite moments from that game's soundtrack. I have a couple different remixes of that theme.
2. "Stroke" - Apocalyptica
Another awesome instrumental track from Apocalyptica. This time the highlight is not so much the cellos, but the haunting acoustic guitar.
3. "Engel' - Rammstein
My brother is a big fan of these guys, and I've picked up a few along the way. This one has this cool whistling effect I dig.
4. "If You Could Only See" - Tonic
Cheesy lyrics don't take away the enjoyment of listening to this one.
5. "Sin Wagon" - Dixie Chicks
Oh boy, I'm out of the closet now. I originally got into Dixie Chicks because I figured it might piss off right-wingers somewhere, but then I realized I actually enjoy the music. It's also a pretty brutal tack on Rock Band. Mandolin solo is serious business.
6. "Crazy Tuesday" - Thenewno2
Quiet little song that gets stuck in your head. Not sure why I actually like it, but I do.
7. "No Sleep Till Brooklyn" - Beastie Boys
Beastie Boys are always meatheaded fun.
8. "Rebel City" - Christophe Heral
Ah, a Master of the Wind track. This is the music that plays in Undermoss in Arc V.
9. "Can't Repeat" - The Offspring
Love this one. I've always been an Offspring fan. I used to do karaoke with friends at NYU and this one became my signature tune.
10. "Explosive" - Bond
A little like Apocalyptica, but more techno-ish. Four very skilled women on various string instruments make for a really badass tune that goes a long way towards proven the often speculated link between classical music and metal.

The funny thing is, people who know me in real life are always surprised that I like metal/hard rock. I've been told that I look too delicate and too normal to enjoy the genre. :urmm: My husband, though, has been told several times that he looks just like Dave Mustaine XD- and he kinda does, especially if he lets his hair grow out. Between the two of us, we probably have a couple hundred CD's that are about 95% metal/hard rock/alternative :vhappy:.

1.) Johnny Mathis - Misty
My mom really likes Johnny Mathis, so naturally we listened to him a lot growing up. I went with her to a Johnny Mathis concert and I was the only non middle-aged person there... but that was cool, they were really nice.
2.) Warren G - Regulate
This song reminds me of this one time when a bunch of us were driving to go camping, it was some kind of retreat. Anyways, there was a cooler in the back and somehow a bee got stuck inside. One of the people in our van was this guy who always acted really serious and hard core... and I remember he was listening to gangsta rap on his head phones, bobbin his head and acting all tough... and then someone goes to get a drink out of the cooler, the bee flies out, and the dude starts screaming like a girl... it was so awesome. So this song makes me think of that because he was rapping along with it right before he started screaming and flailing his arms over the bee.
3.) Def Leppard - Photograph
I don't want your... PHOTOGRAPH... I don't need your PHOTOGRAPH... all I got is a photograph... I WANNA TOUCH YOU, YEAHHHHH!!
4.) Pure Reason Revolution - Deus Ex Machina
I like to pretend I'm a robot who is on some death mission when I listen to this song. It makes you feel like you're moving really fast.
5.) Kevin Lyttle - Turn Me On
Really good to dance to.
6.) Switchfoot - Dare you to move
"Dare you to move like today never happened before." That's like my mantra.
7.) Goofy Movie Soundtrack - After Today
Shut up. It's a really good song.
8.) Jamiroquai - Virtual Insanity
This song is fun to sing, and the music video was simple but crazy.
9.) Elliot Smith - Waltz #2 (XO)
It's a depressing song, but for some reason I always like it. I imagine
10.) Dvorak - New World Symphony (4th movement)
The first classical piece I really enjoyed; my dad introduced it to me when I was really little and I listened to it over and over again.

1 "Voyage to Infinity" Bad Brains
This is godly. I don't care. It is.
2 "Sugar" A System of a Down
Back when the band was practically unheard of, and their promo pictures consisted of Serge with a giant fro, with a katana in one hand and a what looked like one of those home enema kits, we were rocking this at bus stops outside of high school, yelling along to the lyrics to the fear of the slow moving cars as school was heading out.
3 "I Think We're Alone Now" Tiffany
I always had a thing for red heads who could sing :x
Actually the truth is I used to sing this song a lot as a joke, and it's sort of become a staple of my "cheer you up" routine - along with singing Now 'That I'm a Woman' from the animated film redition of the Last Unicorn - of course since I'm cheering people up I'm singing the female lines. When Tiffany fails, always go with the unicorn.
4 'Heart of Glass' Blondie
I actually liked Blondie's disco days better than her punk days, and absolutely loved this song for years, and still can't stop from singing along in a very deep monotone "I'm hoping no one is listening" whispered voice.
5 "Cop Killer" by Body Count
A good li'l medly from Ice-T's (thrashy) metal band Body Count, that my (then) 40 year old father, called 'one of the greatest protest songs ever'. This is my father, who fought in "the Nam", who listened to the protest songs of the 50's, 60's, and 70's - back when music "had a soul" (as he said dozens of times). And this is the song he puts on a pedestal above most others.
Holy fucking shit. I have the original copy of this album, which is hard to come by since it was removed and reissued WITHOUT this song... and it has this song... and it belonged to my father...
(Yes I know that isn't impressive, but if you knew my father it would be.)
6 "Darling Nikki" Foo Fighters
A great Prince cover. I always loved this song, and I'm not sure why. A lot of people love it thanks to the sexual lyrics, but the song just rocks without trying. Prince is extremely underrated despite being so well known and his exploits and all that. Guitar is phenomenal, in Darling Nikki, with a very simple progression and sound. Foo do it very well. Plus both versions (Prince's and Foo's) have a classic rock vocal type.
7 "Ain't No Sunshine" Bill Withers
This is the ultimate old school RnB song that actually combined the old school Blues hit with the rhythm you could still boogie on.
8 "Pinball Map" In Flames
I always liked this song. The chorus is fun.
9 "Working Class Hero" Green Day
A John Lennon cover, yes. I always thought a lot of these poets that music fans put on pedestals were over rated. My mother would lush on the writing stylings of John Morrison, and I was never impressed. I loved Janis, which my mother was happy about. And I was never impressed with John Lennon, who I really only knew of from the Beatles songs and Imagine. This song changed that.
Also the Green day version is nice, but lacks a sort of spark the original had - and I'm someone who loves covers, so it's not just me saying that because it's simply not the original.
0 "Rebel Rebel" David Bowie
Bowie is beyond. Even if I can honestly say a lot of his work isn't my thing, he's still beyond it all. By far probably the biggest influence music wise I've ever known. Despite never playing anything sounding like any of his sounds.

1. Pump it - Black Eyed Peas
Uhh... I like it...
2. Justify - The Red Jumpsuit Apparatus
It's a pretty song from the Don't you Fake It album. One of my alltime favorite.
3. Your Guardian Angel - The Red Jumpsuit Apparatus
Ever since I heard it playing, it has stuck with me until now, as my ringtone :kindahappy:.
4. Sirens in the Distance - Valve
Part of Half Life 2's soundtrack. My library has everything!
5. Phantom Ensemble - Prismriver
As I said earlier, my library has everything! This song came from a music game, similar to DDR.
6. A little Piece of Heaven - Avenged Sevenfold
Awesome song. Before anyone asks, yes, hard rock, metal, and alternative is my kind of musicXD.
7. Untitled 3 - zephie
A failed recording. It was for a skit at school.
8. Charge - Presence of Music
This came from Noir's(older project) audio folder. Oh, and also from Euph's Nadir's Canon
9. King of Majesty - Hillsong

1. "Strawberry Gashes" - Jack Off Jill
Kinda pretty and fun
2. "Hong Kong Garden" - Sioxsie & the Banshees
Not my favorite but it's a fun one. I remember being horribly disappointing the time I saw them live, god so long ago
3. "the Air That I Breathe" - All That Remains
I know someone who thinks they're the heaviest band, which is sad. They're actually really bouncy, this song actually makes me want to dance XD
4. "See No Evil" - Television
I'm not sure why I got this here, but I enjoy it. It's a bit annoying, but I always liked annoying music.
5. "The Shoop Shoop Song" - Cher
AHAHAHAHA... this is that "is it in his eyes?" song, you know, "you wanna know if he loves you so it's in his kiss" ahahaha
Wow who downloaded this song on here... *hits delete*
(edit note: actually I like this song, if someone knows who did the original lemme know lol)
6. "Got the Time" - Anthrax
Anthrax always had good groove. Good bass rifts. This song proves it.
Plus you can dance or slam into someone to it :D
7. "Twisted" - Dakeeng Enkween
Some stupid band I saw a few times whose all into the "be indy" crap. Honestly they suck. I'd delete this but I think it's funny how the singer tries to rap, it sounds like he's stuttering.
8. "You Love Me" - Kimya Dawson
This is just really pretty. Kimya's great.
9. "See You Later, Alligator" - Bill Haley and the Comets
Ahahaha this song is great. Get it. Do it. NOW. >:D
I remember dancing to this doing the twist and stuff in school in like 2nd grade ahaha.
0. "Beat It" - Michael Jackson
Heh, I always wanted that leather jacket XD
I always wanted to rip off the riffs from this song too.

1. "Angels on the Moon" - Thriving Ivory
A hit single on the radio at the moment which I rushed to get for myself after hearing it for the first time. Very rare for me...but there's something about the vocals and lyrics that really got under my skin in a good way.
2."Deep Silent Complete" - Nightwish
Among my favorite Nightwish songs. Always made me think of Laurel while working on MotW, though the song itself probably wouldn't work so well ingame for her.
3. "Lightning Rod" - The Offspring
A lesser-known track from the album Splinter. That album was far from their best work, but it had a few neat songs to it. From the start, this one was too weird and ambitious to really become a hit single.
4. "Conventional Lover" - Speck
One of those goofy tracks nobody would know if it weren't for Rock Band (in large part because some Harmonix employees are in this band). The (intentionally) nerdy lyrics are really fun. Hint: the "convention" refers to a comics/fantasy convention.
5. "Scar Tissue" - Red Hot Chili Peppers
I have no idea what this is about...and something tells me the band doesn't either.
6. "Ima Made Non Domo" - Masu Misairu
Watching "Naruto" (in Japanese way before the American dub existed) over the years introduced me to a number of songs. This was one I wanted to keep.
7. "Mountain Song" - Jane's Addiction
Another Rock Band track. I don't know what I think of this song. It's kind of neat, but it just doesn't....go anywhere. Weird to sing, too.
8. "Shoulder to the Plow" - Breaking Wheel
Jeez, getting to be a Rock Band marathon here. This song is pure metal, and one of the hardest in the game. I picture it sung by a classic Neanderthal, complete with animal skin toga and club.
9. "My Land" - Sonata Arctica
Go ahead and try not to sing along to this once you've heard it a few times.
10. "Out of Exile" - Audioslave
Love these guys, I wish they had stayed together. But I can still marvel at Chris Cornell's ridiculous range, hopefully without being mad that his equally ridiculous ego broke up the band.

1. Never Too Late - Three Days Grace
Our local "rock" radio station plays this song quite often. I like the acoustic guitar riff and the lyrics. Plus, unlike some of the bands I've been hearing recently, Adam Gontier actually has pleasant vocals. Plus it's a Canadian band :vhappy:
2. Socio - Stone Sour
<3 Corey Taylor. It amuses me greatly that so many people criticized him and said that he couldn't sing because early Slipknot was more screaming than melody. I still remember a music forum I used to frequent where one of the mods left after saying how much Stone Sour rocked - and then realizing who did the vocals. He was really embarrassed because he'd just finished bashing Slipknot in a thread. I found it funny.
3. Wait and Bleed - Slipknot
I think what I like best about this song is the lyrics and the guitar. The pace is energizing and the screaming just gives me that "RAWR!" feeling. I most frequently listen to it when I want to focus on something.
4. Freak On A Leash - Korn
This is probably the first Korn song that I heard heavily on the radio. The best part of this song, of course, is the video. I've recently seen it win some of the "best video" toplists they have on VH1. The version (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8ypHwJ7zCAM) featuring Amy Lee is also fun (though different). They play it on the radio often.
5. Broken - Seether (feat. Amy Lee)
Although I love this song, it has a tendency to make me cry. My husband sent the song to me when we were dating and still living a couple thousand miles away from each other. So, it makes me a little emotional.
6. Heart-Shaped Box - Nirvana
A memory from my high school days. But since they play it on the radio so much, it doesn't make me feel nostalgic. Instead, like with most of Nirvana's songs, I often try to figure out what the lyrics are supposed to be. I often mishear them as something completely random and nonsensical, much to the amusement of my hubby.
7. Enter Sandman - Metallica
I don't think this song needs introduction or explanation :aww:
8. Vermillion - Slipknot
Great vocals, great lyrics, great mood. I was very pleasantly surprised when I picked up the album, since I didn't expect the song at all. It's even enjoyed by friends that don't like Slipknot. I like it a little better than Vermillion Pt. 2, though the violins are fun in that particular version.
9. Blue Monday - Orgy
How does it feel?
10. (Don't Fear) The Reaper - Blue Oyster Cult
Although it was probably overused in movies, tv shows, and commercials, it still rocks. It's a classic and that guitar riff is awesome.

I'm spriting so here's ten songs from my spriting mix
I haven't set this yet but my prediction is a lot more hip-hop orientated, and... I'm gonna say not one rock, metal, or punk song. Which is usually what I'm more known with/for.
1. "Da Mystery of Chessboxin'" Wu-Tang Clan
Wu-Tang Clan ain't nothin to fuck wit - okay so wrong song, but the statements the same. I should still tell my story bout being cursed out and fucked with by ODB.
They're still one of the grittiest and harshest groups I've ever heard, of ANY genre.
2. "Over Seasons" (acoustic/live) Zero Authority
Part reggae, part punk, all out of the revolutionary spirit.
If it's only part punk, do I lose out on my prediction? D:
3. "Po' Folk" by Nappy Roots
Has enough soul to be groove, and it's actually potent. But it's the groove I like.
4. "Universal Mind Control" by Common
This guys underrated. And he's considered one of the best. He can be pretty boring though, either his rhymes or beat - but not here. This is sweet. Even if it isn't original.
5. "One More Time" Daft Punk
I have the Alive album on here, and some of the normal tracks, but either is sweet. I gotta see 'em live one more time.
6. "Keep Ya Head Up" by Tupac
For reals, screw it. I'm NYC, at the time I should've been up on Biggie, but Pac had the better rhymes, the better skills, the better - he kicked ass.
7. "Caught in a Mosh" Anthrax
Okay here's a trash metal song, so yeah my prediction is destroyed.
Anthrax was great \m/
8."All Caps" by Madvillain
Another slow beat that reminds me of stuff that got me from a little punk and thrash metal kid to rap. But it's got a bit of grit, which I always appreciate. I prefer Old School feat. Talib Kweli, but oh well.
9. "Looking for the Perfect Beat" Afrika Bambataa
I consider Afrika Bambataa the George Clinton of hip hop. I remember someone I know took his vox and put it in a Cliff Burtain track, and it just... nothing beat it.
0. "New York State of Mind" by Nas, Jay-Z, & Tupac
Flow. That's it, it's just pure flow.

1. XIV Dark Centuries - Des Kriegers Traum
A tale of a warrior dying while defending his hometown.
2.Black Messiah - Sauflied
I love to drink to this song. =P
3. Thyrfing - Intro
Well, an intro I guess. :x Still sounds nice, from the album Hednaland
4. Dissction - Where Dead Angels lie(live version)
I loved their concert, this song always reminds me of it.
5. Minjar - Wildsau
The lyrics are actually funny, it's about hunting a pig and about eating it. xD
6. Black Messiah - In Rememberance
This piece always brightens me up whenever I'm down.
7. Turisas - One More
This song is one of my favorites, I've never seen anyone who listend to it and didn't like it. =O
8. Riger - Angriff
Like every second word in this song is Angriff (attack). Just love it. xD
9. Eluveitie - Your Gaulish War
This song has a very nice instrumental part which includes flutes.
10. Korpiklaani - Happy little Boozer
No comment to this one. :x

1. Beck- Pressure Zone
Ah, I love Beck. This is the first time I've listened to this particular song (I download whole discographies most of the time, even if I only like one or two songs by a band), but it brings to mind the reason why I love Beck. He's just so fucking unpredictable. There's just no way to listen to Beck and try to categorize him with any single genre.
2. The Cardigans- Paralyzed
Not really a big fan of the Cardigans, but this one is strange... and I like it. Lol.
3. Deftones- Lotion
Too much screaming in this track for my tastes. Why I have it, I don't know. :p
4. Cire- Mirrors
Gorgeous song, and a fantastic band that really deserves more recognition than they currently have.
5. Paul Gilbert- Heaven in '74
Surprising song for Paul Gilbert, it's very grassroots sounding. And no offense to Paul, but he really shouldn't sing, haha.
6. The Smashing Pumpkins- The Imploding Voice
:) SP makes me happy. Usually.
7. The Mars Volta- Ambuletz
This song makes me think for some reason. I don't know why.
8. The Who- Pinball Wizard
Reminds me of my dad, lol. He loves this song. 's alright to me.
9. Mitch Hedberg- Shaving Too
God, Mitch Hedberg was the funniest guy ever. RIP.
10. Muse- Screenager
Beautiful. I'll just leave it at that.

1 "Journey to the End of the East Bay" Rancid
Overall just a fun song
2 "The Brews" NOFX
I just like NOFX and this was a fun song too.
3 "The Suffering" Billy Talent
One band I've never seen live that I would want to. I actually don't know this song that well, because I only recently got it. I do enjoy Billy Talent's other songs very much though, so I figured to get the rest.
4 'Pioneer' From Autumn to Ashes
I can almost swear I had this song on here already. Still my favorite FAoA song at the moment, too bad they called it splits. I just really like the whole anti traditionalism feel.
5 "Ring of Fire" Social Distortion
A cute cover of the Johnny Cash original. I like how there are so many people who dis country music (including me I'll admit), but Cash seems untouched by it. Even so, a majority of bands these people enjoy, often cover or enjoy Cash himself so...
6 "I Feel So" Box Car Racer
A little poppy sure, but it's pretty. So I'll listen.
7 "Redneck" Lamb of God
I like some of the other stuff better, but this came up. I enjoy Lamb of God, and nearly die of exhaustion any time I see them from the pits.
8 "What's Love Got to do With It?" Tina Turner
Man... I'll still swear up and down that Tina Turner had the most impressive vocal talent to never peak. I still think there was so much she couldn've done, but oh wells.
9 "Punk Rock Song" Bad Religion
A lot of songs from the punk influence is coming in here, aren't they today heh. I like Bad Religion, I like the hyper sensitivity of it - shh I know what I meant to say, I don't care if it didn't come out right heh.
Plus the lyrics are so underlooked.
0 "Bounce 2 This" George Clinton & Parliament Funkadelic
And what?! >o
That's all I gotta say. George Clinton & the Parliament Funkadelic, AND WHAT?!
Also the song, with the bit of crowd heard in it, it's just groove on ice.

2 - Don't Die on Me by Mirah
I like the feel of the song, it's really mellow and kind of haunting
3 - Heroes by David Bowie
How could anyone not like David Bowie?! D:<
4 - Tonight, Tonight by the Smashing Pumpkins
Everyone's got one song that is pure nostalgia on a stick - this is mine.
5 - Startin' Up a Posse by Anthrax
The biggest middle finger to Tipper Gore and the PMRC ever, no really
6 - Turkish Song of the Damned - by the Pogues
I'm not entirely sure why I like the Pogues, and this song kind of annoys me, but it's fun... I think, almost
7 - Twoja Genercja by Pidzama Porno (I had to spell something wrong here)
It's groovy for a Polish punk song. I figured some of the lyrics, which surprised me to know I was partially right.
8 - Scarlet Begonias by the Grateful Dead
This is a nice li'l groovy funky acoustic song that's fun. Sublime did a descent cover of it. It's a good warm up song - don't ask me why.
9 - Close to Me by the Cure
Hahahaha I like to dance to this song when I'm tired in the basement - when I'm done with this and maybe another post that's exactly what I'm gonna do XD

1. Seeking the Road that Sinks in Illusion - Yasunori Mitsuda - Soma Bringer OST
It's Yasunori Mitsuda... Just that makes it pretty nice to listen to :vhappy:. Sets a mood of mystery and sadness.
2. Larmes - Silence - L'autre Endroit
It's a large mix of Electronic, Classical, and Orchestral music. Quite "enchanting" to listen to.
3. Alpha Century Part III - Andulus - O2Tunes
It's a level 35 song in O2Jam. Hard to describe it to be honest and I don't even know why it's in my library.
4. Efface - Silence - L'autre Endroit
The most Electronic like song in L'autre Endroit, which apparently is very attracting. I usually listen to it twice on my music player.
(Seeking the Road that Sinks in Illusion came up again)
5. Zain the Floating Continent - Yasunori Mitsuda - Soma Bringer OST
It's a song that most likely will fit in an MMORPG in my opinion. It sounds so free and limitless, which paints a picture of the sky.
6. Beethoven Virus - Banya - O2Tunes
Highest Level 28 song in O2Jam. Strangely upbeat mix of Beethoven's song - not sure what pieces are in there.
7. %5 - Pory - O2Tunes
Why is most of my O2 songs in my library?? This one isn't very fun to listen to, way too techno for me :disappointed:
8. Cellule - Silence - L'autre Endroit
This one I'd say is full of emotion. It's hard, strong, and jagged resembles most of Rock but it's mixed in with Orchestral and Electronic.
9. Untitled - Unknown Artist - No Album specified
...yeah, just by the title it's hard to understand. It's actually Trance to give a bit of idea to the song.
(%5 came up again.)
10. Alpha Century Part IV / Infernoplex - Andulus/NemesisTheory - O2Tunes
Some insane techno-ish boss fight. I started to like it when I attempted this insane Level 86 song. 3285 notes in 4 minutes. Doesn't sound that bad.

1. Kingdom of Doom - The Good, the Bad, and the Queen.
Awesome band, awesome song.
2.Acceptable in the 80's - Calvin Harris
Whimsy and Danceriffic
3.Chrono Cross OST - Opening
Memories of a great game and childhood.
4.Aqua - Goodbye to the Circus
The only slower song I like from them!
5.DJ Tiesto - Break My Fall
Another nearly generic dance track.
6.The Bravery - This is Not the End
Again, the bravery, good stuff.
7. Nightwish - The Beauty of the Beast
Gothic Operatic Rock say no more.
8.They Might Be Giants - 200 Sbemails
I swear I have more of their songs...
9.Hammer to Fall - Queen
Another rock ballad from Queen.

1 "Under Pressure" by Queen feat. David Bowie
Iunno, it's just a fun song and easy to get people to dance around to, particularly people who claim not to dance. Plus Mercury's li'l dapper scat parts are fun.
2 "I'll Go Till My Heart Stops" by 36 Crazyfists
I always liked this Alaskan band, the singer's vocals just sound neighborly to me for some reason.
3. "God Gave Rock and Roll to You II" by KISS
I'm not a fan of KISS personally, but I like this cover song of theirs, Blame Bill & Ted's Bogus Adventure.
4. "Empire State of Mind" by Jay Z feat. Alicia Keys
I just like the song and the beat. I could actually go without the Alicia Keys parts, but that's just me.
5. "Save Tonight" by Eagle Eye Cherry
God, anyone my age will remember this song once ruled the airwaves haha. I liked it at first than absolutely HATED it beyond all other songs at the day. Now it's like nostalgia on a stick and reminds me of some girls from one of my junior high schools.
6. "Roots Radicals (Acoustic)" by Rancid
The album version is better, but this is cute enough. Got this weird thing where if I like a song and an unplugged version exists I must have it.
7. "Blister in the Sun" by Violent Femmes
Long stories are attached to this one.
8. "Greensleeves" by the Dublin Ramblers
When I was a little kid there was a movie, I think it was animated? I don't even remember - but this dude in it for half a moment was singing this song in retort to a comment from a woman, and I used to just try my best, as a little kid, to sing it. I made up my own lyrics cause I had no idea how it ended.
9. "Jailbreak" by Thin Lizzy
One of the most awesome bands people have forgotten about >:U
10. "Salty Dog" by Flogging Molly
Awesome.

1. DevilSLAB - McVaffe (OCRemix)
Eh, this is okay. I prefer some of the other Devils Lab remixes I have lying around.
2. The Unreasonable Theory - Motoi Sakuraba (Trusty Bell ~Chopin's Dream~ Original Score)
This song is really atmospheric, as is the dungeon it plays in. Despite the impossibility of it (I still haven't beaten it!) the dungeon inspired the design of one of the Worlds for my comic. Of course, with the changes made it may never appear...
3. Daily Life - Shoji Meguro (Shin Megami Tensei: Persona Original Soundtrack)
Given the kinds of theories and philosophy I like, it's no surprise I like the Persona series. Even if the PSP remake is the only one I've played.
4. The Biggest Dreamer (Arranged Version) - Wada Kouji (Digimon Opening Best Spirit)
It's a guitar solo (plus vocal) of the opening to Digimon Tamers, and it's surprisingly nice. I don't listen to solo-ish songs much.
5. A Way of Life -Deep inside my mind Remix- - Mayumi Fujita (Persona 3 Portable Original Soundtrack)
I prefer the original A Way of Life. :/
6. The Ancient Master Descends from the Mountains - Yoko Shimomura (Live A Live Original Sound Version)
Does this count? I converted it from an spc to save having to download the MP3. Either way, I'm kinda indifferent.
7. Captain of the Shooting Stars! - Yoko Shimomura (Live A Live Original Sound Version)
We're far into the future, and video-game music haven't passed NES quality? Something's wrong there.
8. Mayonaka TV - Shoji Meguro (Persona 4 Original Soundtrack)
Do... do... do... do... do... do... DO! Do... do... do... do...
9. Rebuild Ourselves -from Revolution- - Motoi Sakuraba (Trusty Bell ~Chopin's Dream~ Original Score)
One of the best, if not the best final battle theme I've ever heard. I'm not one for classical music, but Motoi has made Chopin's classic feel so modern.
10. You Can't, It's Impossible - Kiichi (☆24EFFECTS☆)
24 Effects is a Yume Nikki fan-remix album. I don't know where this tune comes from though.
Yes, I listen to a lot of game soundtracks. Maybe lyrics just feel distracting to me, or I am sub-consciously relating to their origin, so that is how I like the songs - through their games.

1. Heart - "Crazy on You"
One of the best and most famous riffs ever. Trust me, you've heard it, even if the song title is unfamiliar. Also has an amazing vocal wail at about 3:15 in.
2. Brain Tyler - "The King's Highway"
From the Bubba Ho-Tep soundtrack, aka the source for Shroud's theme in MotW.
3. Eminem - "Stay Wide Awake"
From his new album, which was a very mixed bag. I kinda like this song, I like the atmosphere and the chorus, but the lyrics aren't up to his usual standards.
4. Queen - "Princes of the Universe"
Face-melting 80s rock, and from the Highlander soundtrack!
5. King Diamond - "Welcome Home"
GRANDMAAAAAA!!!
6. Boston - "Smokin'"
Very abusive when it comes to Rock Band vocals. Still can't believe the inhumanly high note Delp hits at the end.
7. Nightwish - "The Islander"
Flat-out gorgeous. Have yet to met a person who listened to this and didn't love it.
8. Tenacious D - "Tribute"
He asked us..."Be you angels?" And we said "Nay! We are but men! ROCK!"
9. Megadeth - "Take No Prisoners"
Insanely fast. Hilariously rude ending. Awesome.
10. Pink Floyd - "Have A Cigar"
God, they're weird. I love them though.

That is the best line in "Tribute" too haha.
1. Word Up by Korn
Always liked this song, and I never knew why. Even the Mel B cover was fun for me. I have NEVER heard this song covered poorly by anyone with talent.
2. Love Will Tear Us Apart by Joy Division (that happened last post too)
3. Breath Me by Sia
It's funny how this song is all over Olympic commercials now, well, the music not the vocals are
4. Bonita Applebum by A Tribe Called Quest
5. Kung Fu Fighting by Carl Douglas
Everyone thinks it's called "Everybody(or Everyone) was Kung Fu Fighting" pfft
6. Caught a Lite Sneeze by Tori Amos
Boys for Pele was and still remains one of the best albums of all time in my opinion.
7. End of the World by R.E.M.
I always have to keep this song on whatever it is, ipod, mp3player, stash of CDs, whatever, simply because I always have to know the lyrics, in case we ever cover the song again in a band
8. Kernkraft 400 by Zombie Nation
Most people confused this as Zombie Nation by Kernkraft 400 heh
9. C is for Cookie by Cookie Monster
Shut up, don't judge me D:
10. Big Truck by Coal Chamber
